Executive Experience
Richard A.
Washick, President
Responsible for overall management, planning and
marketing activities, Dick has over 30 years experience in benefits consulting
and insurance industry. He served as National Sales Manager and Director of
Group Operations for a major insurance company. He was Vice President of Frank
B. Hall, Inc. (now Aon) in charge of managing the National Administration and
Self-insurance Division. He has spoken at numerous seminars of consultants,
human resources executives, and benefits associations throughout the US and
Canada on self-insurance, managed care and effective outsourcing of employee
benefits plans. He is a member of the Professional Benefit Administrators
Association and was a Member of the US Employee Benefits Delegation to the
Peoples Republic of China. He received his Business Administration degree from
De Paul University.
Angelia J.
Kirkland, Chief Executive Officer
Angie oversees all claims management and administration of
health and welfare plans. She has worked in the insurance industry for over 20
years. Prior to joining PBA in 1990, she worked as Claims Manager,
Administration Manager and Director of Internal Operations for a national
third-party administration organization. Her extensive experience and attention
to detail assure total responsiveness to our valued clients. Angie obtained her
degree from Valencia College.
Sonia B. Canlas, Executive Vice President and
Consulting Actuary
Responsible for the firm’s internal operations and management of
the Retirement Plans Services practice. Prior to joining PBA, Sonia simultaneously served as Director
of Pension Actuarial Services for Andersen’s Metro New York offices. Her
previous positions include corporate consulting on International Compensation
and Benefits with large global companies, i.e., Mobil Oil Corporation and
Bristol-Myers Squibb. She worked as Consulting Actuary for several actuarial and
benefits consulting firms (e.g., William M. Mercer, and Howard Johnson & Co.)
servicing small, medium and Fortune 500 companies.
Sonia is an Enrolled Actuary and a Member of the American Academy
of Actuaries, American Society of Pension Actuaries and American Compensation
Association. She served as a Member and reviewer of the IRS Joint Board
Examination Committee for the Enrollment of Actuaries. She was a Member of the
US Employee Benefits Delegation to the Peoples Republic of China. Sonia has a
B.S. degree in Chemistry. She holds an MBA degree from New York University.
Robert A.
Washick, Vice President and Consultant
Responsible for coordinating administration and
Information Technology. Robert started with the firm in 1989 utilizing his computer
expertise and became a full-time employee after graduation from college in 1993.
He is a licensed Life, Health and Property Casualty Insurance agent and
continues his studies in Web Development. His dedication, enthusiasm and
expertise in the technological area has enabled PBA to offer Internet, Intranet,
Direct Access, Reporting and cutting edge capabilities to our valued clients.
Robert received his degree from Rollins College. He received his MBA through the
University of Central Florida MBA program.
